Members of Atlantic Futures Research Stream 2 recently wrapped up a dynamic Research Impact Thinking Group on business scaling research.
The group met to stimulate critical discussions and generate ideas about how research can be conducted, disseminated, and applied in ways that maximise its societal, economic, and cultural benefits.
They were joined by the esteemed Prof. Becky Reuber from the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, who is an expert in growth strategies of entrepreneurial organizations, including internationalization and opportunity creation. Her invaluable insights were greatly appreciated.
The team’s PhD researchers presented their preliminary research questions and engaged in a robust discourse to refine their independent work and establish synergy for the overall project. The workshop also included a brainstorming session where the team explored plausible approaches to data collection that are expected to pave the way for impactful findings in the research following the insightful contributions.
The work of Research Stream 2 on Business Scaling is aimed at providing valuable insights for businesses across the island of Ireland by offering detailed case studies of successful scaling ventures. Understanding the specific challenges and opportunities of scaling in the Western region will equip businesses with tailored growth strategies, enhancing their competitiveness and fostering sustainable development within the local economy.
